About The Counter

The Foundation

The idea for the counter was born from a history in our family of serving the best produce over a Counter. 

This comes from both sides of our family. My Grandfather on my mothers side was a Master butcher in Rugeley, Staffordshire. On my fathers side his mother's father was a Green Grocer in Lewisham, South London.

Dining at The Counter 

Were very passionate about using the best we can, but also from the closest to home we can find them. We are trying to keep our food & Wine miles as low as we can. 

Our food produce is farmed as close to home as we can, using local butchers, farmers and suppliers most comes form within Kent and Sussex. We also forage as much as we can locally in and around Tunbridge Wells. Collecting Wild garlic, three cornered leeks, Ceps, Winter chanterelles, Blackberries, Spruce tips, Elderflower, Elderberries, this list grows each year as we learn about new produce.  

For our wine choices we select from Europe, which has some of the best wines in our opinion. But more importantly is closer to home.
